Ice Climbers
| Well, it's officially my birthday, and my 21st year of continued existence. (Me, not the Site) In celebration of this, I've decided not to cancel the site. Aint I a swell guy, giving you updates AND continuing to exist on MY Birthday? I thought so. Despite the occasion, I don't intend to put up a special picture from the distant future in celebration. Besides, you guys just got TWO gifts, and none of you got me anything! But enough about that, today we got the Ice Climbers, the Second of the fairly obscure characters to appear in the Smash Brothers series. (The First one is Ness, by the way.) (UPDATED: June 26) |

| When I had first got it into my head to build the SSBM characters I tried to build the Ice Climbers in a larger scale, so I could get detail on their faces and the parkas they wear. However, it was not to be, for it used way too Damn many pieces and still wasn't enough to do what I had wanted to. A similar story happened for Mario and Link (At the time it was Wind Waker Link though) They were still low res, but bigger, so they were all scrapped before any pictures were taken. This proves (With evidence to the contrary!) that I do have standards. The Ice Climbers are both poorly built with only 2 differences between them. Color and eye direction. As players they're fairly mediocre, I can't deny that there are painful moves in their arsenal, but half the strength comes from the extra. A recovery move that depends on the extra's existence is a hassle as well. Seeing as there are problems with ordering extras around you run into annoyances like this: You go to pick up a weapon, you go too far and pick up the wrong weapon, guess who has the good one? That's right! An ineffective bot. I rarely use the Ice Climbers, they're not useful to me, so they can join the Loser's Crowd with Luigi and company. |
