Roy (Neo)

I have seen my paycheck, and it was... smaller than I'd hoped. But you know what they say, "Something is better than nothing", in this case, "Something" is Minimum Wage. With that unpleasant dose of reality I will move on to the update. It's been 5 weeks already, and that means it's time for another Neo. Today's window of relief is Roy, the 5th and final character dropped from the Melee roster. His unfair replacement was Pit, who only inherited Roy's annoying battle cries. (In spirit, that is) "The Fight is on!" Ugh. There are some fixes to this model I need to address, but... Remember that Virus that took me down a couple months ago? Yeah, I still don't have all my programs back so I can't edit all my new pictures for sizing and lighting. BREAKING NEWS! The programs have been recovered and I can get around to fixing things at my leisure, which is to say, LATER. Look forward to off schedule updates for the fixes. (UPDATED: February 4, 2012)

3rd to be built was Roy, a favorite both as a model and as a player. Made on the same day as Pichu, just considerably later in the day. Began at 7:40, concluded at 8:49 PM, plus a few extra minutes on another day when I decided to make hic cape more accurate. For this model I really went the extra mile. For most things I build, when I come across a detail that is too small for my current scale, I usually just leave it out of the design. This time I used some flat pieces for some of the tiny details. This is strange because I like to use flats as little as possible, because I don't find them standard enough. For this model I got over it though. Moving on. I actually detailed the sword this time, and built the sheathe in the direction it's actually positioned in. This was an unnoticed detail, that I forgot to make since it wasn't in the reference picture for some reason. As a result, it ended up being more unlogged development time for how long it took to make. I mentioned the cape early on, and I did 2 things with it. First of all, I made it double colored, just like it was shown. Second, I made it straight. So this time around, it's sadly not rippling from the non-existent wind. The final note of meaning, was what I did with the hair. Much like the first time, it gave me a hard time. I never could get it quite like I would have liked it, so I gave up and said "Screw it." Anime/Bed head is not my specialty. As another removed character, it seems I'll have to pull another FS out of my ass, so I guess I'd better stand up. Dragon: This Smash will seem a bit redundant, if you compare it to Ike, but as far as I'm concerned, he's just a clumsier Roy, so suck on THAT. Roy utters an incantation and a Fiery Serpentine Dragon emerges from his sword. The Dragon then encircles the target, from bottom to top, inflicting fire damage (obviously) as it encroaches around the enemy like a tornado. At the end of the smash, it dives down, then soars straight up, sending the enemy into the air before returning to the sword. Just to be clear, if the attack connects, the opponent is completely unable to escape the blows, and is paralyzed for the duration of the smash.
